Prof. Dr Maria Esther Esteban Torné, Bachelor (1990) and PhD in Biological Sciences (1997), Unit of Anthropology, University of Barcelona (UB). Main research focus: Genetic Anthropology (human population genetics and human biodiversity) and medical applications. Current position: University Lecturer in the Faculty of Biology (UB); Coordinator of the degree on Biomedical Sciences. More than 50 articles in indexed journals (see PubMed database). Participation as researcher in more than 20 projects with grants from several programs.
