Editorial

The inauguration of International Journal of Modern Anthropology coincides with a time when some findings from anthropological research provide new conclusions against some questionable classic considerations and / or show increasing relevance to do some syntheses of multidisciplinary data. The revelation of these two events marks the birth of a modern anthropology. The principal aim of this journal is to contribute to the development of this modern anthropology.

In fact, the traditional break between different specialities of biological anthropology and those of cultural anthropology led to a smash of the man study. In addition, the persistence of some classic questionable considerations even in some recent publications would have somewhat restrained the progression of the anthropological science. Modern anthropology comes to head all anthropological specialities and to permit the confrontation of knowledge, which will stimulate researchers to start real grand syntheses of multidisciplinary data. In addition, it comes to encourage modern anthropologists to get rid of classic questionable considerations.

General instruction

This journal publishes papers that extend our understanding of the humankind in all its aspects, particularly those that present syntheses of multidisciplinary data of Biological Anthropology as Genetics-Anthropology, Paleoanthropology and Medical Anthropology and those of cultural Anthropology.

It is a freely open access journal online in www.ata.org.tn . It publishes annually papers following several formats:
Original Synthetic Articles presenting grand syntheses of analyzed data from biological anthropology specialties and those linked up from cultural anthropology specialties or vice versa. Syntheses must be original and provide new justified hypotheses or theories and / or new conclusions and ideas or new methods.
Review Synthetic Articles reflecting current interests on all aspects of biological anthropology and related aspects of cultural anthropology.
Original discovery articles, are short papers, which provide discoveries in biological anthropology and in all aspects of basic human biology or discoveries expanded from popular traditional medicine.
Thought Short Reports, concern only interesting subjects in anthropological field which, present problems and no resolved questions. In such report authors present and discuss the subject giving new convincing ideas and answers.
Critical Short Reports, in which modern anthropologists can bring out general ambiguities and classic questionable considerations. They can also criticize data and conclusions provided by recent original paper.

Manuscripts of Original Synthetic Articles and Review Synthetic Articles must be presented in about 25 to 35 pages (The text must be double-spaced; top, bottom and both side margins should be about 3cm). While manuscripts of Original discovery articles, Thought Short Reports and Critical Short Reports must be presented in only about 5 to 15 pages.

Each annual issue appears online with open access to the full text of articles and with print availability. It is indexed in Google, Google Scholar and others. Thus, articles will receive massive international exposure and consequently will receive high citations.
The journal receives manuscripts only in English from all over the world. Manuscripts submitted must not be under consideration by any other journal at the same time or have been published elsewhere (exceptions could be done after authorisation only in the case of Short Reports). All manuscripts will be anonymously refereed by at least two reviewers.

Manuscripts should consist of the following subdivisions: -Title page -Abstract (250 words or fewer)-Text -Literature cited -Tables -Figures legends and Figures (Hard copies of certain figures may be needed once an article is accepted for publication). The pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the title page. The title page must contain the following: Title; Author's name(s); Corresponding institutions and addresses; Number of pages of the manuscript; running title; Key words; Name and address of the corresponding author (telephone and fax number and e-mail ) and in 5 to 7 lines a brief C.V. of the corresponding author.
